What technical stuff needs to be done each week?

Each week many technical things are done in the background to make it all happen on a Sunday morning.

Pre Service

Sound Desk

  • During rehearsal by music team, adjust the three different sound mixes for balance as required
    • On the platform
    • in the room
    • for the Live Stream
  • Ensure batteries are sufficiently charged for wireless microphones. A small battery tester is available where there is no indicator on the microphone.

Production Console

  • Ensure that cameras are aligned and zoomed to handle the current team and the order of service
  • Ensure all cameras are focussed
  • Check that there is a Stream ready to go on our YouTube Channel, or create one

Proclaim

(note that some of this can be done at home prior to the service as Proclaim synchronizes presentations via the web)

  • Setup new presentation, usually done by duplicating previous one and adjusting the new one.
  • Add Songs that are to be sung, typically from "my songs" section, or CCLI list if it has not been used before.
  • Check with worship leader regarding order of verses, choruses etc and adjust within Proclaim.
  • Ensure song credits are shown on either the song title screen or first set of lyrics
  • Ensure that CCLI License # is entered for each song and showing on
    • first screen
    • and confidence screen for those present (done via "notes" tab on each song.
  • Import
    • PowerPoint file for today's announcements, and adjust the slide timing for before and after the service
    • PowerPoint for sermon or bible reading
    • Import any videos etc
  • Follow along with music team rehearsal to check that song lyrics are correct and adjust if needed

Starting the Stream

Production Console 

  • Turn off Live Audio
  • Turn on PC Audio
  • Switch to PC Video Input (Video button 4)
  • Start the Stream
  • Start the Recording

Proclaim

  • Start the Pre-service Announcements

Starting the Service

Production Console

  • Turn off PC Audio
  • Turn on LIVE Audio
  • Switch to Appropriate camera feed

During the Service

Production Console - During Songs

  • Turn "words" switch on/off as appropriate
  • Switch Cameras 1-3 as appropriate for video feed
  • Switch to Video feed 4 for announcements or videos

Proclaim

  • Click through lyric screens during songs
  • Start or click through PowerPoint or video presentations

After the Service

Production Console

  • Turn off LIVE Audio
  • Turn on PC Audio
  • Switch to PC Video Input (Video button 4)

Proclaim

  • Start the Post service Announcements, letting them run through once.

Production Console

  • After one cycle of announcements slides at the end,
    • Stop the Stream
    • Stop the Recording
  • In YouTube Studio
    • Close off current Stream
    • Schedule a new one for next week, using same settings and adjusting name, date and time etc

Sound Desk

  • Mute all channels
  • Leave sliders as they are
  • Ensure all wireless microphones are turned off and returned to the desk
  • Eventually switch off amps and lights at the front, and desk at the back.

 

Desk and equipment should then be wiped down as per COVID safety guidelines.
